Are You a Liar?

Videos

Are you a liar? Of course, our knee-jerk response might be to be offended, and then to shoot back an immediate response. “Of course not! I am not a liar, don’t be ridiculous!!” However, before we respond too quickly, we might be wise to inspect ourselves carefully, and to judge ourselves according to the Scriptures.

First, we must remember that we will be judged for every single and idle word that we have spoken, (Matthew 12:36-37). Those who love and practice lying WILL BE eternally CONDEMNED, (Revelation 21:7-8; Revelation 22:14-15; cf. 2 Thessalonians 2:7-12).

Second, we must remember that it is NEVER YHWH’s desire to CONDEMN anyone, (Ezekiel 18:23; Ezekiel 18:32; Ezekiel 33:11;1 Timothy 2:4; 2 Peter 3:9). YHWH desires for EVERYONE to recognize our sin, to repent and turn away from our sin, and then to RETURN to YHWH, to His Ways, and to the faith and the example of Messiah, Whom He sent. So, IF we are condemned as a liar, it will NOT be because YHWH desires it. It will ONLY be because WE refused to repent, and to walk in truth.

Third, we would be wise to remember that we will be judged according to YHWH Almighty’s definitions of key terms and concepts. We will NOT be judged according to OUR standards and definitions, but we WILL be judged according to YHWH Almighty’s Standards and HIS Definitions, (Psalm 4:6; Psalm 96:13; Ecclesiastes 12:13-14; Isaiah 55:8-9; Isaiah 5:20-24; Matthew 16:27; Hebrews 4:12-13). Therefore, when we evaluate our desires, attitudes, our words, and our behaviors, we NEED to make CERTAIN that our measuring stick AGREES with YHWH’s Standards, (Isaiah 5:20-24). So, the real question is not, do I think I’m a liar, but does YHWH consider me a liar?

Fourth, IF we learn to judge ourselves, by YHWH’s Standards, then we will not be judged, (1 Corinthians 11:31). Why? Because, if we make the wise choice to truthfully judge ourselves, then we will recognize YHWH’s Standards. We will recognize where we are falling short of His Standards, and We Will REPENT, BEFORE His Judgment, and His Condemnation becomes necessary. Remember, is the DUTY of everyone who claims the name of Messiah to repent from wickedness, (2 Timothy 2:19). With this in mind, remember that the grace of YHWH is there to help us, and to empower us to REPENT from, to TURN AWAY from, and to OVERCOME wickedness. Grace through Messiah’s death has NEVER made it okay to continue sinning without repenting. Do not be deceived. Do not confuse Lawlessness with Grace. Examine yourself while time remains.

Shalom
